ISLAMABAD: A high-level Saudi business delegation met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday to discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation and promote investment between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The delegation was led by Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Saudi Crown Prince. He said Pakistan was keen to transform its longstanding relationship with Saudi Arabia into a strategic economic partnership.
The prime minister said the current time was the most suitable for expanding joint cooperation between the two countries. He expressed hope that the Saudi delegation’s visit would pave the way for the signing of memoranda of understanding and agreements in various sectors.
The Saudi delegation expressed interest in investment opportunities in agriculture, port and airport operations, and the energy sector.
Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the warm welcome and hospitality.
During its visit, the Saudi delegation is also scheduled to meet senior government officials and other stakeholders to explore investment and business opportunities in different sectors.
