KARACHI — A high-level U.S. business delegation, facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), recently concluded a comprehensive two-day visit to Karachi after holding crucial introductory meetings in Islamabad. During their time in the provincial capital, the delegation met with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Governor Syed Nihal Hashmi to explore high-potential ventures across key projects, including the Bin Qasim Industrial Park, Karachi Industrial Park, Keti Bandar Port, NED Tech Park, and the proposed Sindh International Financial Centre. Officials detailed the features of the Sindh Business One Stop Shop (S-BOSS) digital platform, emphasizing the provincial government’s unwavering commitment to streamlining investment procedures and championing public-private partnerships.
The itinerary included extensive site visits to vital economic hubs, such as Port Qasim’s industrial parks, the Karachi Port Trust (KPT), and Hutchison Ports Pakistan, where delegates reviewed modernization plans, cargo handling capabilities, and logistics networks. Furthermore, the delegation held high-level interactions with the Pakistan Business Council (PBC) and the American Business Council (ABC), discussing avenues for collaboration in agribusiness, textiles, energy, mining, and healthcare, while acknowledging SIFC’s pivotal role in bolstering investor confidence and ensuring policy continuity.
