Dr. Ruth K. M. Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi has received advanced diagnostic machines, medical equipment and essential hospital furniture aimed at improving diagnostic services and strengthening patient care across various departments.

A ceremony was held at the hospital on Saturday to distribute the new equipment and hand over diagnostic machines to the relevant departments. Pakistan Peoples Party Karachi Division General Secretary Rauf Ahmed Nagori attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

Among the newly provided equipment are Mammography and FibroScan machines, which have been handed over to the Radiology Department. The mammography system is expected to increase the hospital’s capacity for breast imaging and support the early detection of breast-related diseases.

The FibroScan machine will help doctors assess liver fibrosis and related liver conditions through a non-invasive procedure. The technology can provide important information about liver health without requiring an invasive biopsy.

The hospital’s Central Laboratory has also received advanced Randox laboratory machines. These systems are designed to support a range of diagnostic investigations, including clinical chemistry, multiplex immunoassay testing, toxicology and molecular diagnostics.

Hospital officials said the addition of the new machines would strengthen diagnostic capacity and help improve access to essential investigations for patients visiting the major public-sector tertiary care facility.

The equipment is expected to enhance the hospital’s ability to provide timely diagnostic services across different departments, while also supporting doctors in detecting and assessing diseases more effectively.
