The Multan Board has emerged as the best-performing educational board in Punjab in the 9th Class Result 2026, recording the highest pass percentage among the province’s nine boards.
According to an analysis of official result gazettes, 52.11 percent of students under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Multan passed the examination. A total of 140,675 candidates appeared, while 73,301 students were declared successful.
Faisalabad Board secured the second position with a pass percentage of 51.21 percent. Out of 196,656 candidates, 100,708 students passed the examination. DG Khan Board ranked third with a pass rate of 48.18 percent, with 51,081 students passing out of 106,001 candidates.
Lahore and Gujranwala boards jointly secured the fourth position, with both recording a pass percentage of 46.51 percent. Lahore had the highest number of candidates, with 280,676 students appearing and 130,543 passing. Gujranwala reported 249,352 candidates, of whom 115,966 were successful.
The remaining boards recorded comparatively lower pass percentages. Sahiwal Board stood at 43.41 percent, followed by Sargodha at 42.61 percent, Bahawalpur at 38.46 percent, and Rawalpindi at 37.56 percent. Rawalpindi therefore recorded the lowest pass percentage among Punjab’s nine boards.
Overall, 1,395,575 students appeared in the 9th Class examinations across Punjab, while 641,662 candidates passed, resulting in a combined pass percentage of approximately 45.98 percent.
The difference between the highest and lowest-performing boards was 14.55 percentage points, with Multan leading the provincial ranking and Rawalpindi recording the lowest overall pass rate.
