Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan says the party’s parliamentary group will work to secure the withdrawal of emergency measures and governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament on October 28, Gohar said a joint parliamentary party meeting had strongly condemned the measures and discussed the political situation in the province.
The meeting lasted around eight hours and was attended by approximately 70 members of the National Assembly and Senate.
Gohar said the party had prepared recommendations and sent them to opposition leaders for approval. He also stressed that PTI would continue to pursue its position through parliamentary and constitutional channels.
The federal government had cited the deteriorating security situation in KP as the reason for imposing the measures, while PTI is demanding their withdrawal.
