JS Bank’s digital banking platform Zindigi has introduced “Zindigi Overseas Accounts”, enabling eligible overseas Pakistanis to open and operate bank accounts in Pakistan digitally without a Pakistani mobile number or visiting a bank branch.

Users can register through their international WhatsApp numbers and open formal bank accounts with an International Bank Account Number (IBAN). Through the Zindigi app, they can also support family members financially, pay utility bills, transfer funds within Pakistan and conduct other banking transactions.

The facility is available to eligible Pakistanis holding a Pakistan Origin Card (POC), National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) or Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC).

In accordance with applicable regulations, customers can choose between a Non-Resident Account Repatriable (NRAR) and a Non-Resident Account Non-Repatriable (NRNAR), depending on their banking requirements.

Zindigi Co-founder and Chief Officer Nauman Azhar said the launch of overseas accounts was part of the platform’s vision to make banking simpler and more accessible for all Pakistanis.

He said geographical boundaries should not become barriers to accessing financial services, adding that the new facility would help overseas Pakistanis remain financially connected to their home country.
