pakistan-bowlers-climb-rankings-ladder-in-latest-icc-t20i-update

In a timely boost ahead of major tournaments, several Pakistani bowlers have made significant gains in the latest ICC T20I rankings following their dominant performance in the recent series against Bangladesh.

Leading the charge are Haris Rauf and Abbas Afridi, who now jointly hold the 18th spot in the bowlers’ rankings with 605 points each. Their lethal pace and wicket-taking ability proved pivotal in Pakistan’s 3-0 clean sweep over Bangladesh, and the rankings are beginning to reflect that impact.

Shaheen Shah Afridi has also climbed up the ladder, moving to 35th with 552 points. Known for his deadly inswingers and aggressive new-ball spells, Shaheen’s resurgence is a promising sign for Pakistan’s bowling attack.

In the spin department, vice-captain Shadab Khan and emerging spinner Abrar Ahmed have made their presence felt. Both now sit at 58th position with identical ratings of 476, underlining their value in controlling the middle overs and breaking partnerships when it counts.

However, not all the news was positive. Young pacer Naseem Shah has slipped to 92nd, while left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem dropped to 95th. Both will need to regroup and reassess their approach as the competition tightens on the global stage.

Despite these strides, no Pakistani bowler has yet broken into the top 10. New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy continues to dominate the rankings, sitting comfortably at the summit thanks to his consistent performances.

Pakistan’s clean sweep over Bangladesh wasn’t just about the team effort—it’s now visibly reshaping individual reputations too. The pace trio of Rauf, Abbas, and Shaheen is increasingly seen as a deadly frontline combo, while the spin bench appears deeper and more versatile than in recent memory.

With more T20 cricket on the horizon, the message is clear: Pakistan’s bowlers are back in the conversation—and climbing fast.
