KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Youth (District West) has announced a bike rally to be held on Saturday, July 13, in Orangi Town. The rally is being organized to protest against what the group describes as “harassment and excessive challans” by traffic police over number plate issues.
According to organizers, the rally will start from Salman Farsi Mosque and conclude outside the Traffic Police Orangi Section office at Poonay Paanch Number.
On July 12, awareness activities were conducted in various parts of Orangi Town to inform residents about the upcoming protest and its purpose.
The organizers allege that citizens are being penalized or mistreated over minor or technical irregularities in their bike number plates, which they say has become a growing concern.
The rally, they say, will be peaceful and aims to highlight these issues before the relevant authorities.
