Pollution, Plastic Exposure, and Poor Diet Emerging as Major Causes of Cancer in Youth

Recent studies and global health reports have highlighted a troubling rise in cancer cases among young people, linking this surge to environmental pollution, plastic exposure, and poor dietary habits.

‎1. Pollution

‎Air pollution, especially micro-particles, can enter the body through inhalation and affect the lungs, bloodstream, and even individual cells. Toxic chemicals from polluted water and soil can also enter the body, potentially triggering cellular mutations that may lead to cancer over time.

‎2. Increasing Plastic Exposure

‎Chemicals such as phthalates and bisphenol A (BPA), commonly found in plastic bottles, packaging, toys, and other everyday items, have been shown to disrupt the hormonal system. These chemicals are associated with hormonal imbalances, changes in puberty, and increased risk of various cancers, particularly breast, prostate, and blood cancers in adolescents.

‎3. Unhealthy and Contaminated Diet

‎A diet high in processed foods, sugar, artificial colors and flavors, and low in fiber can lead to inflammation in the body, which increases the risk of cancer. Additionally, obesity caused by poor nutrition is a known contributor to several types of cancer.

‎Health experts are calling for greater awareness and preventive action to address these modern lifestyle and environmental factors that are increasingly putting younger generations at risk.
