The Allied Health Professionals Council has issued new regulations making a house job mandatory for allied health graduates.

‎According to the decision, no allied health professional will be granted a professional license without completing the required house job.

‎Under the notification, graduates who complete a four year allied health degree program will be required to undertake a six-month house job, while graduates of five-year degree programs will be required to complete a one year house job. During this period, allied health graduates will be designated as house officers, similar to doctors.

‎Following the council’s decision, the overall duration of allied health degree programs will also increase. However, the council has not yet clarified whether a stipend will be provided during the house job period.
