Ebola Virus Outbreak Confirmed in Congo, Dozens Dead

The spread of the Ebola virus has been confirmed in the eastern region of the Central African country Democratic Republic of the Congo.

‎According to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, dozens of deaths have occurred due to the Ebola outbreak in Ituri province of Congo.

‎The statement said that an emergency meeting is being convened with Congo, Uganda, South Sudan and global partners to coordinate efforts aimed at preventing the cross border spread of the virus.

‎The statement added that 246 suspected cases of the Ebola virus and 65 deaths have so far been reported.
