The Punjab Healthcare Commission has warned registered medical practitioners and other stakeholders regarding fraud being committed in its name.
According to the PHC spokesperson, fraudsters are collecting money from various individuals in the name of the commission, while funds are being transferred into different accounts through fake identities and forged documents. Registered practitioners have been advised to immediately inform the police in case of any suspicious person or demand for money.
According to the PHC, the commission collects fees and fines only through banking channels and its official accounts, while all payments must be made only through challans issued by the commission.
The spokesperson clarified that responsibility for any amount paid personally to an individual will rest with the person making the payment.
According to the PHC, some affected individuals also launch campaigns against the commission on social media, while action is ongoing against those committing fraud in the commission’s name and damaging the institution’s reputation.
