Another Case of Mpox Reported in Karachi

Another case of monkeypox has been reported in Karachi. The provincial health department, while confirming the case, stated that a total of 8 individuals in Karachi have been affected by monkeypox.

‎According to the Sindh Health Department, a total of 33 mpox cases have been reported across Sindh so far. The highest number of cases, 22, have been reported in Khairpur, while no new case has been reported from Khairpur in the last 5 days.

‎The Sindh Health Department further stated that three cases of monkeypox have been reported from Sukkur so far, adding that the mpox situation has improved and is under control.

‎According to the health department, more than 50 healthcare workers in Sukkur have been trained, and infection control audits have been completed in major medical institutions.

‎The department also stated that IPC audits have been conducted in hospitals in Sukkur and Khairpur, and precautionary measures have been further tightened in neonatal and critical care units.
