KARACHI: The Airport Security Force (ASF) successfully thwarted an alleged money laundering attempt at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, recovering a large sum of foreign currency from a passenger’s luggage.
According to ASF officials, during routine security checks, a passenger’s hand-carry was found suspicious and subjected to detailed screening. Upon inspection, officials recovered various foreign currencies equivalent to more than Rs8.3 million in Pakistani value.
The seized amount included US dollars, Saudi riyals, Malaysian ringgits, and other currencies. The recovered currency and the suspect were handed over to Pakistan Customs for further investigation and legal proceedings.
