Health experts say that regular practice of yoga breathing exercises may help manage and control high blood pressure, offering a simple and natural support method alongside medical treatment.

According to recent findings shared by health researchers and wellness specialists, pranayama (controlled breathing techniques in yoga) can help reduce stress levels, improve oxygen flow, and promote relaxation of the nervous system. These effects may contribute to lowering blood pressure in individuals with hypertension.

Doctors explain that stress is one of the major contributing factors to high blood pressure. Breathing exercises such as slow deep inhalation, alternate nostril breathing, and guided relaxation techniques may help calm the mind and reduce strain on the heart.

However, experts also emphasize that yoga breathing exercises should not replace prescribed medication. Instead, they should be used as a complementary lifestyle practice along with proper diet, regular exercise, and medical supervision.

Health professionals recommend practicing yoga breathing for 10–20 minutes daily in a calm environment for better results.

Conclusion: Breathing exercises in yoga may help support blood pressure control by reducing stress and improving relaxation, but they work best when combined with a healthy lifestyle and medical care.
