The British Council in Pakistan hosted the Education Symposium 2025, bringing together leading educators, policymakers, and innovators to explore solutions for a more inclusive and future-ready education system in Pakistan. The full-day gathering focused on strengthening partnerships, advancing innovation, and encouraging practical action to improve learning outcomes nationwide.
The event featured a keynote address titled “The Future of English” by Michael Connolly, Director of English and School Education at the British Council. He emphasized the growing role of English, technology, and digital inclusion in creating equitable learning environments, highlighting the importance of accessible and transformative education for all students in Pakistan.
British Council Pakistan Country Director James Hampson said the symposium showcased innovation and inspiration, especially from students and organizations using education and AI to create better opportunities. Connolly added that English today acts as a bridge to opportunity, global engagement, and innovation, reinforcing the Council’s mission to empower teachers and learners in a rapidly evolving world.
Multiple panel discussions and hands-on workshops covered skills development, education policy, and digital teaching tools. Partner organizations including Suno Kahani Meri Zubani, BrainSPACE, Taleemabad, ILMpact, and Science Fuse demonstrated creative approaches ranging from storytelling and arts education to AI-powered learning and EdTech integration.
Representatives from provincial education departments, development agencies, and private organizations participated, underscoring the British Council’s role in fostering collaboration across education stakeholders. The symposium builds on the Council’s ongoing efforts to support teacher development, promote educational innovation, and expand inclusive learning opportunities across Pakistan.
