Under the Chief Minister Heart Surgery Program, more than 10,000 children have undergone free heart surgeries.
A meeting regarding the Children Heart Surgery Program was held at the Punjab Health Initiative Management Company. Secretary Specialized Healthcare Azmat Mahmood, Additional Secretary Procurement Ameera Babar, Vice Chancellor University of Child Health Sciences Professor Masood Sadiq, Managing Director Children Hospital Professor Tipu Sultan, CEO Punjab Health Initiative Management Company Dr. Ali Razaq, and other officials also participated in the meeting.
Briefing was given on the monitoring framework, service delivery, and other measures. Khawaja Salman Rafiq said that under the program, 420 children from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 249 from Azad Kashmir, 106 from Islamabad, and 28 from Balochistan underwent heart surgeries. From Gilgit Baltistan 34 and from Sindh 27 children received completely free cardiac surgery.
