CM Sindh asks Universities to Organize Big Independence Day Celebrations

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah convened a high level meeting with all the vice-chancellors of public and private Universities of the province to chalk out the plans of Independence Day celebrations. Senior ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon, Nasir Shah, Saeed Ghani, Muhammad Bux Mahar, and Zulfiqar Shah were present in the meeting along with 64 universities, which were represented in the meeting either physically, or using the video link.

CM Murad Ali Shah declared that the Independence Day celebrations will initiate on August 1 and every university must get their campus and classroom decoration as per national pride. The government will award the institutions that have the best decorations.

The chief minister drew the attention of the universities to organize sporting, cultural programs and shows, debates and literature events and reminded them of inter-university coordination through the Sindh HEC. He said that there was something about the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces that elevated the honor of the nation and the forthcoming celebrations should be in the same spirit.

The forum was briefed by Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon on what is going to be taken up by the public and the private institutions. During the session, the university representatives as well posted their propositions.

It was agreed at the meeting that Independence Day should be celebrated with dignity and enthusiasm throughout all learning institutions.
