KARACHI: Fake Rs 5,000 currency notes have reportedly been put into circulation across various markets in Karachi, prompting urgent warnings for traders, businessmen, and the general public to remain vigilant during financial transactions, ARY News reported.
The sudden influx of counterfeit bills has sparked serious anxiety within commercial hubs. Fraudsters are reportedly employing various deceptive tactics to push the fake notes into daily retail transactions, catching many unsuspecting citizens and shopkeepers off guard.
Addressing the alarming situation, Karachi Electronics Dealers Association (KEDA) President Rizwan Irfan confirmed that multiple local businessmen have fallen victim to receiving fake Rs 5,000 notes within the busy Karachi Electronics Market.
In light of these incidents, Irfan has strongly advised both the business community and everyday shoppers to thoroughly check and inspect all Rs 5,000 currency notes before accepting them in cash exchanges or routine purchases to avoid financial losses.
