Karachi: District East Police successfully apprehended three members of a notorious gang that was robbing sacrificial animals ahead of Eid-ul-Adha while impersonating police officers.
The suspects, dressed in police uniforms, were stopping livestock transport vehicles in various parts of the city at gunpoint. They would loot valuable animals and other possessions before fleeing the scene.
May 22, 2025 (Sachal Area): The accused robbed 19 goats, a pistol, and an iPhone 14 Pro. May 30 & June 4, 2025 (SITE Super Highway Area): The gang looted 19 bulls/cows and 6 goats during two separate incidents. First Information Reports (FIRs) for these crimes were registered at the respective police stations. In response, a special team was formed to track down the suspects.
SITE Super Highway Police (New Sabzi Mandi Check Post) launched a targeted operation using technical intelligence and CCTV footage. Three suspects involved in the robberies were successfully arrested, while several accomplices managed to escape. Cases have been formally registered against the arrested suspects under relevant legal provisions, and they have been handed over to investigation officers for further questioning. Police are also verifying the criminal records of the arrested individuals and conducting raids to apprehend their remaining accomplices who are currently at large.
