Exercise is necessary for a healthy life, but for how long? Can excessive exercise also be harmful?

‎The common and correct perception about exercise is that to stay healthy and fit, being active is essential and exercise is the best remedy for that.

‎According to experts, the habit of exercising is excellent for both body and heart, but moderation is important; too much exercise can also be harmful.

‎Cardiologist Dr. Amiya Adyor says that high intensity exercises such as marathons and triathlons can damage parts of the heart, which may also cause irregular heartbeat.

‎The cardiologist further said that two and a half hours of moderate exercise per week such as brisk walking, cycling, or swimming is sufficient for heart health, while exercising beyond that can put extra pressure on the heart.

‎Research shows that people who perform intense exercise for more than 75 minutes daily are at an increased risk of calcium buildup in their arteries.

‎According to experts, the benefits of exercise for the heart stop after a certain limit; excessive exercise is not beneficial. Everyone must consider whether they are exercising properly or not.
