After a stray dog attacked a female polio worker in Korangi, the District Health Officer Korangi immediately formed teams to ensure the safety of polio workers.
According to details, on Saturday during the ongoing anti polio campaign in Karachi, a stray dog attacked female polio worker Kinza Fatima in Zaman Town area of District Korangi and injured her by biting her leg, which created panic among polio workers. District Health Officer Korangi Dr. Shah Muhammad Sheikh reached the spot as soon as he received the information.
The incident occurred when the female polio worker was administering polio drops to a child. The District Health Officer immediately took the injured worker Kinza Fatima to Indus Hospital where she was given anti rabies injections.
Later, District Health Officer Dr. Shah Muhammad expressed concern over the large number of stray dogs in District Korangi and also formed additional teams for the protection of polio workers. Meanwhile, residents of District Korangi are also living in severe fear due to the increasing number of stray dogs.
