Karachi: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle has arrested a suspect involved in defrauding a citizen by promising an Australian work visa in exchange for millions of rupees.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the suspect — identified as Kashif Raza, a resident of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi — was not a registered overseas employment promoter. Despite this, he received Rs800,000 in advance from the victim and had agreed to arrange a fake work visa for a total payment of Rs2.8 million.
The agency stated that the suspect provided a counterfeit visa to the complainant, leading to his arrest. A case has been registered against him, and further investigation is underway to trace possible accomplices and other victims.
