LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Lahore has arrested two members of a gang posing as FIA officials to extort money from government offices.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the arrested suspects were identified as Umar Tariq and Fahad Irfan. The duo impersonated FIA personnel and collected money from various government departments under false pretenses.
The suspects were apprehended from Allama Iqbal Town, and authorities recovered the extorted money and digital evidence from their possession.
FIA officials added that raids are underway to arrest the ringleader and other members of the organized gang involved in the scam.
