ISLAMABAD — Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir made a visit to flood-affected regions in Kasur and Jalalpur Pirwala (Multan) to review relief operations, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Saturday.
Munir was briefed in detail about the ground situation, rescue and relief efforts, and coordinated with senior civil administration officials to strengthen civil-military cooperation in delivering aid.
Among those present during the visit were the Chief Secretary Punjab and other high-ranking civil officials. Munir stressed the urgency of expediting infrastructure work to protect lives and property from recurring flood devastation.
He also interacted with flood victims, assuring continued support for their resettlement and rehabilitation. The COAS met troops, Rescue 1122 personnel, and police officers involved in relief efforts, commending their dedication and coordination.
Additionally, Munir conducted aerial reconnaissance along the Lahore-Kasur and Multan-Jalalpur Pir Wala axes to assess damage. Upon arrival in affected zones, he was received by the corps commanders of Lahore and Multan.
