First Monkeypox Case of 2025 Reported in Lahore

The first monkeypox case of 2025 has been reported, as a patient named Rahmat Ali tested positive at Lahore General Hospital.

‎According to the Health Department, a monkeypox isolation ward has been established at Lahore General Hospital. So far, 17 suspected cases of monkeypox had been reported in the hospital.

‎MS General Hospital, Professor Faryad Hussain, stated that the patient is being provided with free medicines and all necessary facilities at the hospital.

‎Professor Faryad Hussain added that Rahmat Ali was brought to the hospital with high fever and skin rashes.

‎The MS General Hospital  further said that Rahmat Ali had previously undergone a liver transplant, and he had also lost his arm in an accident.
