Karachi: Defence Police arrested five suspected members of the White Corolla Gang following an alleged encounter near Phase 7 Extension, officials said on Tuesday. Three suspects were injured during an exchange of gunfire.
According to police, the suspects opened fire as soon as they spotted the patrol team, prompting retaliatory action. The injured suspects were identified as Ali Asghar, Wajid, and Muhammad Shabbir, while two others — Majid Sultan and Ibrahim — were taken into custody without injuries.
Police spokesperson stated that a white Corolla car, four mobile phones, a laptop, a 9mm pistol, and two .30-bore pistols were recovered from the suspects.
Initial investigations revealed that the arrested men were involved in multiple criminal incidents and were wanted in several cases. Authorities are also verifying their previous criminal records.
The injured suspects were shifted to a hospital for treatment, while further investigation is underway.
