HIV/AIDS has been confirmed in eight young children over the past few days, while one girl has died.

‎During the last 10 days, HIV was diagnosed in eight children admitted to the children’s ward of the hospital. Three year old Alisha passed away during treatment, while seven other children remain under treatment.

‎Following the confirmation of HIV in the children, an emergency has been imposed in the children’s and gynecology wards of the hospital. The affected children are reported to be between five months and three years of age.

‎Doctors said that there is no AIDS center available at the hospital, therefore the children have been shifted to AIDS centers established in Sukkur and Larkana.
