June 26, 2026 – Millions of Muslims around the world are commemorating Ashura, the 10th day of the Islamic month of Muharram, with mourning ceremonies, religious gatherings, prayers, and acts of charity. The day holds deep spiritual and historical significance for Muslims worldwide.
In countries including Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, India, Lebanon, and Nigeria, large processions and majalis are being held to remember the martyrdom of Imam Hussain ibn Ali (as) and his companions in the Battle of Karbala in 680 CE.
