Cloudflare, one of the world’s largest internet infrastructure providers, suffered a major outage on Tuesday, disrupting thousands of websites and online services globally. Platforms relying on Cloudflare—including many WordPress-based news sites and social media platform X—experienced slowdowns or complete shutdowns.
According to Downdetector, a surge in outage reports began around 5 PM Pakistan time, with users worldwide reporting accessibility issues. ProPakistani’s website and several of its backend WordPress tools were also affected during the disruption.
Cloudflare’s status page confirmed an “internal service degradation,” noting that some services were intermittently impacted. The company stated it was working to restore operations and would provide updates as the situation evolved.
A short while later, Cloudflare reported that systems were beginning to recover, though users might still encounter elevated error rates as remediation efforts continued.
While services are gradually returning to normal, full restoration across the internet may take additional time as Cloudflare investigates the root cause of the breakdown.
