Google Gemini AI Arrives on Android Auto for Beta Users

Google has started rolling out its Gemini AI assistant on Android Auto for select beta users, marking a major step in its plan to integrate Gemini across all Google platforms.

According to 9to5Google, early access has appeared for users on Android Auto versions 15.6 and 15.7. The rollout is server-side, meaning it’s not tied to a specific update or device.

New settings now include options for Gemini’s location access, hinting at a future where it fully replaces Google Assistant in cars. Once widely available, Gemini will handle voice commands, messaging, music, navigation, and smart home controls through apps like Google Maps, Home, and Keep.

Gemini will also offer real-time translation of incoming and outgoing messages, and drivers can activate it using “Hey Google” or the new “Let’s talk” command.

Unlike its smartphone version, Gemini on Android Auto provides shorter, distraction-free replies for safer driving. A broader rollout is expected soon, following user feedback from the beta phase.
