Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal said that health issues are in fact national security issues for any country. When a large number of people fall ill, even the healthcare system of a superpower like the United States comes under pressure.
While addressing a seminar in Islamabad, the Federal Health Minister said that providing quality healthcare facilities to the public is the government’s top priority. However, health work does not begin only after a patient is admitted to a hospital, rather it is essential to focus on the health sector outside hospitals as well.
Mustafa Kamal said that in Pakistan too, many people are falling ill at the same time, which is affecting the healthcare system. If the health sector is not put on the right path, it will become a national crisis that will consume the country’s economy.
He said that we need to prevent people from falling ill, but unfortunately the nation is not even willing to administer polio drops to its children, which has become a difficult task to explain. Here, it is not possible to do the right thing without facing criticism.
The Federal Health Minister termed health awareness as essential and said that this message should be conveyed to as many people as possible. The treatment of any disease is only possible when it is diagnosed in a timely manner, because when a large number of people fall ill at the same time, no country in the world can bear such a burden.
