ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has warned students and degree holders against fraudulent individuals posing as authorised HEC attestation agents.
According to the commission, unauthorised people have been approaching applicants and offering to facilitate degree attestation and verification in exchange for additional payments.
HEC has advised applicants not to hand over their original educational documents or share personal information with unknown individuals.
The commission has emphasised that applicants should use the official HEC online attestation system and deal directly with authorised HEC channels.
Students have also been advised to remain cautious about anyone claiming to have special access to HEC officials or promising faster processing in exchange for extra money.
The warning is aimed at protecting applicants from financial fraud, identity misuse and possible misuse of educational documents.
HEC has urged students and degree holders to verify information through official channels before making any payment or handing over documents.
