KARACHI – The father of late model and actress Humaira Asghar has finally broken his silence after the discovery of her decomposed body from her apartment in Karachi — believed to be nearly 8 to 10 months old.
Humaira’s remains were transported to Lahore by her brother and brother-in-law, where she was laid to rest in the Model Town Graveyard. Her father, Dr. Asghar Ali, made his first public appearance during the burial, amid previous claims that he had refused to receive his daughter’s body.
When approached by reporters at the graveyard, Dr. Ali refuted those claims, explaining that the family could not take custody of the body until a post-mortem examination was completed. “There’s a proper legal procedure when it comes to receiving a body from the police, and it takes time,” he clarified.
Asked about the possibility of foul play or details from the autopsy report, he declined to comment. “I don’t want to speak on that yet,” he said. Gesturing toward the sky, he added, “God will take account of what happened to my daughter.”
Shortly after the burial, Dr. Ali left the cemetery and avoided further media interaction.
In a heartfelt moment remembered by many, Humaira had once gifted her father a vibrant sketch of himself on Father’s Day — a gesture that had touched hearts across social media.
