The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as Cyclone Senyar forms over the Bay of Bengal. The system is expected to intensify from November 21, bringing severe weather conditions to the region.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall, ranging from 7 to 20 cm, is likely at one or two locations in the Nicobar Islands, while the Andaman Islands may see heavy rainfall between 7–11 cm. Residents are advised to stay alert as sea conditions are expected to become rough.
A Local Cautionary Signal-3 has been raised at Port Blair Port to warn of high waves. Authorities have asked boat owners, islanders, and tourists to exercise extreme caution, especially when operating boats or engaging in recreational activities.
Fishermen have been specifically advised not to venture into the North Andaman Sea until November 23 due to the risk of high waves. The IMD continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as the cyclone progresses.
