Inflation Soars, Half the Nation Below Poverty Line: Haleem Adil Sheikh

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh has said that inflation has reached its peak in Pakistan, and more than half of the population is now living below the poverty line.

Speaking to the media after a meeting with party leaders at Adil House, Sheikh strongly criticized the government, stating that the continuous increase in petroleum prices reflects anti-people policies.

“While oil prices are falling globally, the Pakistani government is doing the opposite — this is sheer injustice to the people,” he said.

Sheikh added that the rule of law and the constitution has collapsed, warning that a country cannot progress without an independent judiciary, free media, and access to justice.

He alleged that the government’s actions are rooted in hatred for Imran Khan and PTI, claiming that the public mandate was stolen, corrupt leaders were imposed, and the constitution was shredded to protect them.

Haleem Adil Sheikh revealed that after the controversial 26th Constitutional Amendment, the government is now planning a 27th Amendment, which he said the nation will never accept.

He announced that a nationwide movement for Imran Khan’s release will begin after Ashura, declaring:

“Pakistan cannot move forward without Imran Khan. Keeping him in jail is injustice, and the nation will never tolerate it.”

He concluded that the people of Pakistan will take to the streets for the release of Imran Khan, the supremacy of the constitution, an independent judiciary, free media, and true freedom.
