Iran’s top negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, says American voters have sent a clear message against war following the US midterm elections.
In a statement posted on social media, Ghalibaf said: “Whether out of conscience or the cost of living, Americans said no to war, and we endorse this message.”
His remarks came after Democrats made major gains in the elections, securing control of both the US House of Representatives and Senate, according to reported projections.
The Iranian official also warned Washington against ignoring public opinion.
The statement comes amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States, with concerns about a possible return to wider conflict.
However, Ghalibaf’s remarks represent Iran’s interpretation of the election results, not an official explanation from American voters.
