ISLAMABAD: Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni held separate meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during his official visit to Islamabad, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and promoting regional stability.
During his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, discussions focused on Pakistan-Iran relations, regional security, and the evolving situation in the Middle East. The prime minister stressed the importance of dialogue and restraint to prevent further escalation in the region and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting peace and stability through diplomatic engagement.
Momeni also met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where both leaders reviewed matters of mutual interest, bilateral and regional security, and effective border management. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two sides emphasized enhancing security cooperation and coordination along the Pakistan-Iran border.
