The federal capital is witnessing an alarming surge in dengue cases, with dozens of patients rushed to hospitals. The total number of cases has now crossed 400.
According to the District Health Officer (DHO), 25 new dengue cases were reported in Islamabad, with 21 patients admitted to hospitals. Thirteen cases were reported from rural areas and 13 from urban localities.
Bharakahu reported 6 cases, while 3 cases each were confirmed in Rawat and Ali Pur. Two patients each emerged from sectors G-5, G-6, F-6, G-7, and F-10. Meanwhile, one case each was confirmed from G-11, E-11, H-9, F-13, G-9, and Tarlai II. With these fresh cases, the total dengue count in Islamabad has reached 458.
Authorities carried out inspections at 343 sites and identified 14 hotspots where strict administrative measures were enforced. Action was also taken against commercial sites, with over 40,000 dengue control activities conducted across Islamabad.
Spraying operations were carried out in 759 homes, particularly around the residences of dengue patients. Additionally, fogging operations were completed at 133 sites.
