Another case of monkeypox has emerged in the city, bringing the total number of affected individuals to 9.
According to hospital officials, the virus was confirmed yesterday in a 38-year-old man. The affected patient was shifted from Thana Colony and admitted to the Infectious Diseases Hospital.
Officials said that the patient’s condition is being continuously monitored, while possible contacts are also being traced to prevent further spread of the virus.
It is worth mentioning that an increase in monkeypox cases has been observed in Karachi in recent days, in view of which the health department has advised citizens to adopt precautionary measures.
