Despite Ban, Sale of Reusable Syringes Continues in the Country

Despite the ban, the sale of reusable syringes continues in the country, while fake auto-disable syringes are also present in the market that can be used more than once.

‎According to the report, syringes labeled as auto disable on the packaging are being sold with reusable syringes inside. Reusable syringes have been obtained from various cities including Peshawar, Multan, and Jacobabad.

‎Additionally, it has been revealed that most reusable syringes are being manufactured and supplied in the Gadun Amazai Industrial Zone in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

‎According to sources, quacks use the same syringe repeatedly to administer injections for 50 and 100 rupees.

‎Experts say that the use of fake syringes is also making the infection control system ineffective. DRAP says that action will be taken against the sale of syringes despite the ban.
