The number of registered AIDS cases in the country has reached 84,000, of which 61,000 individuals are under treatment, while the remaining patients could not be traced.

‎Out of the 65 million dollar AIDS program, 61.1 million dollars have been released to UNDP and an NGO named “Nai Zindagi.”

‎These views were expressed by Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal during a press conference. He stated that in 2020, 37,944 citizens were screened at 49 centers across the country, out of which 6,910 cases tested positive.

‎In 2025, the number of testing centers increased to 97, while 374,126 tests were conducted and 14,182 cases came out positive. He said that AIDS is treatable and its medicines are available free of cost at government centers.

‎He added that a ban is being imposed on 10cc syringes in the country, and once a syringe is used, it will not be used again.
