In a shocking revelation, police have uncovered millions of rupees in assets belonging to a domestic worker arrested for theft in Karachi’s upscale Defence area.
According to police sources, the suspect, who earned only Rs45,000 per month, was found to have four bank accounts with transactions totaling Rs18.6 million. Investigators said the man allegedly used stolen money to purchase a flat in Karachi, plots in Haripur and Islamabad, and even owned a passenger van operating on the Haripur route.
Police further revealed that gold worth Rs10 million was also recovered from the accused. The suspect had been employed by an elderly couple in Defence for the past eight years.
Authorities are continuing investigations to determine whether more people were involved or if the accused laundered money through other means.
