Karachi: Employer’s Driver Arrested for Demanding Extortion in Malir Cantonment Case

KARACHI: Malir Cantonment Police arrested a suspect involved in demanding extortion from his employer, an official statement said on Wednesday.

According to police, an FIR (No. 516/2025) was registered under Sections 384 and 385 PPC after the complainant reported receiving a phone call and a slip demanding Rs 8 million in extortion, along with threats of dire consequences for non-payment.

Acting on technical analysis and confidential intelligence, police apprehended the suspect identified as Dawood Khan, who was later revealed to be the complainant’s personal driver.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to his involvement in the crime. Police stated that legal proceedings are underway, and the suspect has been handed over to the CIA/SIU for further investigation.

The SSP Malir reiterated that district police remain fully alert and committed to protecting citizens and combating criminal elements.
