Four people have died from the coronavirus in Karachi, according to recent reports. All the deceased were elderly and suffered from pre-existing medical conditions, including weakened immune systems.

‎‎The deaths were reported at Aga Khan University Hospital, where the number of COVID-19 patients is steadily increasing. Professor Dr. Syed Faisal Mahmood, an infectious disease specialist at the hospital, described the daily admission of COVID patients as an alarming trend.

‎‎Health experts have termed the rise in cases during the summer as “unusual,” noting that the virus typically shows reduced activity in warmer weather.

‎‎Experts have issued the following precautionary guidelines for the public:

‎‎1. Wear masks in crowded places.

‎2. Maintain hand hygiene and use hand sanitizer regularly.

‎3. Complete your vaccination and booster doses, especially if you are elderly or have a weakened immune system.

‎4. If you or someone around you shows symptoms like cold, flu, or fever, get tested immediately and isolate yourself.

‎‎These recent deaths serve as a stark reminder that the threat of coronavirus is not over, and continued vigilance and adherence to safety measures remain essential.
