A special polio booster campaign has started today in 89 high risk union councils of Karachi.
According to the Emergency Operations Center Sindh, the special polio booster drive in Karachi will continue from May 12 to May 24, during which 1.8 million children up to the age of 10 will be administered polio booster doses.
The Emergency Operations Center stated that additional booster doses are being administered to children for complete protection against the polio virus, while 2,947 polio teams are participating in the campaign across the city.
It is noteworthy that modern jet injector technology will be used in this campaign, through which the vaccine is delivered beneath the skin with high pressure without the use of needles. This method is considered painless and more convenient for children.
