PESHAWAR: The resignation of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has not been accepted after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi returned it, citing discrepancies in the documents.

According to Governor Kundi, two contradictory resignation letters bearing Gandapur’s name were received, and the signatures on both did not match. In a letter issued from the Governor’s House, it was stated that the signatures appeared “different and inconsistent,” raising questions about the authenticity of the resignations.

Governor Kundi, who is currently out of the city, directed Chief Minister Gandapur to appear in person at the Governor’s House on October 15 at 3 p.m. to verify the resignations.

Meanwhile, the election for the new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is scheduled to take place today. The four candidates whose nomination papers have been accepted include Sohail Afridi of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Maulana Lutfur Rehman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F, Sardar Shah Jahan Yousaf of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Arbab Zarak Khan of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
