PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has implemented a major step to provide relief to the public by standardizing the prices of medical tests across the province. The decision, which came during a provincial cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, aims to offer consistent, affordable healthcare services to citizens in all districts of KP.
The cabinet approved a standardized pricing list for all diagnostic tests conducted at public-sector health facilities. The new policy mandates that laboratory and radiology diagnostic charges be unified and aligned with a government-approved rate list, which has now been officially issued.
Key pricing details under the new policy include:
- Malaria Test: Rs. 100
- Blood Urea Test: Rs. 70
- H. Pylori Test: Rs. 200
- Urine R/E: Rs. 50
- Uric Acid Test: Rs. 70
Additionally, X-rays will now be priced between Rs. 50 and Rs. 200, depending on the type of examination.
This initiative is part of the provincial government’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and ensuring that every citizen receives equal and affordable healthcare, regardless of their location. By standardizing prices, the government aims to reduce healthcare costs and ensure fairness in service delivery across the province.
The KP government believes that this move will significantly reduce the burden on families and individuals who often face high diagnostic fees. The unified pricing will not only provide major convenience to citizens but also streamline the financial operations of public healthcare facilities, making essential medical services more accessible.
