Lahore: Police have arrested a rickshaw driver accused of harassing a woman, following swift action aided by Safe City cameras.
According to officials, DIG Operations took notice of the incident and directed SP Model Town Shehrbano Naqvi to form a special team. The Liaqatabad Police SHO later apprehended the suspect.
ASP Model Town stated that the woman had boarded the rickshaw from Gulberg to travel home. CCTV footage captured her entering the rickshaw, which helped investigators trace the suspect.
ASP Kashmala Farooq said the driver allegedly grabbed the woman’s arm near a railway crossing and harassed her. The suspect, identified as Muhammad Ali, has been booked and handed over to the investigation wing.
SP Shehrbano Naqvi emphasized that individuals involved in the harassment or exploitation of women deserve no leniency.
