Dr. Maheera Abdul Ghani has become the first Pakistani woman to earn a PhD in Material Science and Metallurgy from the University of Cambridge, marking a historic achievement for Pakistani women in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

Her groundbreaking doctoral research focused on 2D materials, addressing critical challenges in modern electronics and advancing the field of nano-fabrication, which is essential for next-generation devices.

Dr. Maheera’s academic journey began in Pakistan with an engineering degree, after which she pursued advanced studies in Germany and France under the highly competitive Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, awarded to top global talent.
